Cleaning up cnr Main and 4th avenue - Feb 2012

Thanks to WO Smal from Brixton Police station for cleaning up the corner of Main Road and 4th Avenue in Melville mid Feb 2012.

WO Smal: "Today I went there but there was only one person there but he said that he does not stay there. I chased him away and I then cleaned up the nest behind the crash barrier. I am already getting cases against me from these vagrants and some community members are not happy about what I was doing there. We also found a “crack pipe” in the nest, but no other traces of any drugs except for two empty glue cans."

Please can we appeal to the community to support WO Smal. Community members who give the police a hard time about cleaning up the streets are a nuissance. The boy who was chased off may have been a helpless and homeless but he is almost certainly a drug user and needs to be rehabilitated, not kept in squalor on our streets. Community members who give money to these drug users are prolonging the boys time on the streets and fueling his drug addiction - DON'T DO IT! There ARE places for this boy to go to be rehabilitated and it is not on our streets.
